Nursing Services Nursing Services are delivered with a high level of competency. Special training in geriatric care complements our nurses' compassionate demeanor. Under a physician's direction, we offer around-the clock care with fully staffed teams of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and State Certified Nursing Assistants. Whether the need is for short-term skilled care or long-term intermediate care, we are dedicated to the comfort and well-being of each of our residents. Rehabilitation Therapy Rehabilitation Therapy helps provide a better quality of life. The goal of our Rehabilitation Staff is to help our residents live more independently. Regaining even partial independence contributes significantly to the resident's self-esteem. Riverview Health & Rehabilitation Center offers Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Occupational Therapy to all residents needing these programs. Our comprehensive Restorative Program plays an important role in maintaining or improving a resident's level of mobility and functionality. Social Services Social Services offers emotional and supportive assistance for both resident and family. Choosing a long-term care facility is often a new and difficult experience. We fully explain all the local, state, and governmental financial programs and assist with the completion of necessary forms. Our social workers are thorough and strive to meet any psychological and/or emotional needs that may arise. Dietary Staff Our Dietary Staff ensures that mealtime is a source of pleasure, companionship, and reassurance. We take great pride in our dining program and, to the delight of our residents, provide "Southern-style meals." Special ethnic foods are also prepared, as are therapeutic diets, when needed. Our menus are planned under the supervision of a registered and licensed dietician. Activity Therapy Coordinators Activity Therapy Coordinators provide a wide variety of recreational and educational experiences. Community outings, fitness classes, gardening, religious services, fishing, and visits from our in-house pets all help to improve the total health of our residents. Activities are specific to a resident's cognitive level and physical ability. Riverview Volunteer Program The Riverview Volunteer Program works hand-in-hand with our activities department to encourage continued growth and development through spiritual and social involvement as well as lively entertainment. These volunteers interact with the residents and help with the various planned activities. The nursing home residents enjoy spending time with people and getting extra attention from volunteers.
