SERVICES

Long Term Care

There are basically four levels of inpatient health care.

The first is acute care which is provided in hospitals.  The second is sub-acute care which may be provided in a separate unit in a hospital or in a free standing facility or in a nursing home.  Sub-acute care means the person needs very specific medical interventions, such as ongoing ventilator assistance or a high level of complex rehabilitation care.  The third is long-term care.  This is provided in a nursing home setting.  The last is assisted living.  This is for people who need help with activities of daily living (ADLs), but they do not need intensive rehabilitation or nursing care (more details).

Respite Care

Respite Care is short-term care for your family member when you need to be away or if you cannot provide care for a short period of time. You may admit your loved one into Riverview and know that someone is caring for them 24 hours a day when you cannot (more details).

Hospice Care

Hospice care is a joint offering by Riverview and our Hospice partners. We have three hospices which provide care in our facility: Hospice Savannah, VistaCare Hospice, and Odyssey Hospice. By offering this service to our residents, we can allow them to remain in place and still receive the benefits of Hospice Care. Hospice team members coordinate with our staff allowing your family member to have the benefit of having both (more details).

Activity Therapy

Activity Therapy offers our residents opportunities to remain vibrant, engaged, and stimulated mentally as well as physically. A key aspect to our program is the variety of options we offer. We understand the different interests and abilities of our residents, and plan accordingly. Residents may choose from programs such as cooking classes, bingo, ceramics, or even surfing the ‘net. Alternatively, we also offer bowling, baseball games, gardening, and other more physically challenging activities.

We frequently take part in community events and enjoy the beauty of downtown Savannah. Adventurous outings stimulate and bring excitement to our residents lives. Of course, all outings are well-planned with safety being the number one priority. The appropriate staff always accompanies our residents and the necessary equipment and supplies are kept readily accessible.

Managing stress, improving physical abilities, and building confidence are just a few of the valuable results of activity therapy. Many residents make new friends and develop meaningful relationships while participating in their favorite activities.
